Mother's Day is a special holiday that celebrates the love and care of mothers and mother figures. As a childminder, I believe that Mother's Day is an excellent opportunity to teach children about the importance of showing love and appreciation to the important women in their lives.

Mother's Day is celebrated on different dates around the world, but it is usually held in March or May. At Bunnikins we encourage children to create handmade cards or gifts for their mothers or mother figures. These can be simple crafts such as drawings, paintings, or flower arrangements, or more complex activities such as baking or creating photo albums.

In addition to creating gifts, I encourage children to express their feelings and appreciation for their mothers or mother figures. Children can be taught about the different roles that mothers play in their lives, and how they contribute to their growth and development. This can provide an opportunity to teach children about gratitude and the importance of expressing appreciation for the people they love.

Furthermore, planning activities that celebrate the special women in the children's lives. For example, they can encourage children to prepare breakfast in bed or create a special meal or picnic for their mothers or mother figures. They can also plan outdoor activities such as walks or picnics that celebrate the bond between mothers and their children.

Overall, Mother's Day is an excellent opportunity to teach children about the importance of showing love and appreciation to the important women in their lives. By encouraging children to express their feelings and gratitude, childminders can help to strengthen the bond between mothers and their children, and to promote the values of love, respect, and appreciation. #MothersDay #ChildminderLife #CelebratingMoms #BunnikinsChildminding #EYFS
